John Gattorna is acknowledged as one of the foremost supply chain ‘thought leaders’ in the world today. He has worked in the logistics/supply chain arena for most of his professional life, and has a wealth of experience and insight to share. These days he divides his time between teaching and researching at various universities in Australia, the UK and France; advising a select group of global corporations; speaking on the international conference circuit; and writing books about the design and management of contemporary supply chains. His latest book, Living Supply Chains (FT Financial Times, London, 2006), is creating a lot of interest on all Continents. Chinese language and Indian editions were published in late 2007 and are much sought after. John also has a number of new books under preparation, due for publication in 2008 and 2009.

Nigel has recently moved in to his new assignment as CEO-Logistics, Writer Corporation. Prior to this he was Director Sales – Maersk South Asia office since Sept 2006.

Nigel has worked for more than 22 years in the shipping and logistics industry sector. Before arriving in Mumbai he worked in Copenhagen for 3 years, as the Global Director for Warehousing and Distribution products. Previously he spent 9 years in Asia, and 10 years in Australia. He fulfilled various roles, spanning general management, operations / project management, business development, client management and sales management.

To complement his work experience, Nigel has completed logistics and marketing post graduate studies, respectively completed at the University of New South Wales and the University of Technology Sydney.

Alan G Waller is Vice-President for Supply Chain Innovation at the International Consultancy Solving International. He is also Visiting Professor in International Supply Chain Management at Cranfield Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Cranfield School of Management, President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and Chairman of the European Logistics Users Providers and Enablers Group (ELUPEG).

Alan was educated at St. Catherine's College, Oxford, Leicester School of Management and Cranfield School of Management.  Following a number of years in production line management and management services, Alan moved into management consultancy and has spent over 30 years working on logistics and supply chain consultancy assignments with manufacturers, retailers and logistics service providers over a wide range of industries across Europe, North America and the Middle and Far East, covering strategy development through to implementation of change.

Shankar has a Management background specialized in Sales & Marketing with over 19 years of experience in the Service sector.  He was last the Director for National Sales & Marketing and Projects for Lee & Muirhead, where he worked for 11 years.

Shankar firmly believes that in the business of Logistics, the key driving force is always the people, around whom any Organisation is built and created.  Customer focus and most importantly, the “attitude” towards Service are Shankar’s password  to SUCCESS.  To him, Bertling in India has a huge and ambitious potential for growth, which in turn would be the vehicle to drive the other developing Nations within South Asia Region.        

Samuel Riskin is presently Managing Director - Sales. He is responsible for all FedEx Sales Activities in the Indian Subcontinent, Central Asia, Middle East & Africa.

Before assuming his current position, Samuel Riskin was Director, Worldwide Sales FedEx where he has owned the strategy and sales execution for many of FedEx’s largest accounts globally.

Samuel has over 35 years experience in transportation industry. His career highlights include General Manager/ terminal manager in Australia and Singapore/ Malaysia with full P&L responsibility for sales, operations and customer service. He also served as managing Director of Operations and Sales for Global Service Participants based in Brussels and Managing Director of Global Sales during his previous tenure in EMEA.

Samuel earned his bachelor of Science degree from UPSALA College.

Christoph Remund is Chief Operating Officer, DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) in India.  Based in Mumbai, he is responsible for DHL’s global forwarding operations in India, which include 31 offices and warehouses across the country.

Mr Remund joined DHL in 1992 as DGF Country Manager for Indonesia and was instrumental in expanding DGF’s operations in Indonesia. Among his many notable achievements, he played an important part in establishing PT Danzas Saranaperkasa in Jakarta, Indonesia in 1993.   

Christoph Remund graduated as Shipping Merchant from the Commercial School, Zurich, Switzerland and is also a graduate of the Military Recruitment School at Fribourg, Switzerland.

Prabakaran has 26 Yrs of  work experience in Public and Private sector Oil Companies in India heading very senior positions in Logistics/ Supply & Distribution/ Planning/ Strategy and Industry-Governmental Coordination representing Organization at senior levels. He is a Post Graduate in Business Management.

He is in this profile with Reliance Industries since 2001. Prior to this he was with BPCL for around 20 years.

    

Tulsi Nowlakha Mirchandaney is the Managing Director and Accountable Manager for Blue Dart Aviation Ltd., India’s first and largest domestic express airline with a fleet of 6 freighters. Tulsi has moved from Blue Dart Express Ltd., where she was Senior Vice President – Marketing and Projects. Tulsi joined Blue Dart in 1995.

Tulsi has 25 years of experience in the airline industry. She has an MBA degree in International Aviation from Concordia University, Montreal, and has presented 2 research papers on Aviation.

Sanjiv is a senior transport professional on the Indian Railways, with 25 years experience as a transportation manager, having handled multifarious field assignments relating to railway operations, commercial and marketing management, as well as railway safety. He belongs to the Indian Railways Traffic Service cadre, and is presently working as Executive Director (Project Planning & Development), Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, New Delhi (an undertaking of the Ministry of Railways, Government of India).

Sanjiv holds a Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Delhi, India, and a Masters degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, India. In 1988 he was selected for the prestigious National Management Programme by the Government of India, and was thereafter awarded the Post-Graduate Diploma in Management from the Management Development Institute, Gurgaon, India, in 1989. During 1998 he was awarded a Diploma in Multimodal Transport Management by the West Flanders Economic Study Bureau, Brugge, Belgium, after having been selected as an ABOS Scholar by the Belgium Government.

Mr. Philip Littlejohn was appointed Managing Director of Gujarat Pipavav Port Limited in June 2007, and is also overseeing other APM Terminals activities in India.  He is on secondment from the A.P. Moller-Maersk group, with whom he worked for 37 years. Prior to joining GPPL, he was MD of Suez Canal Container Terminal, the APM Terminals transshipment hub at Port Said, Egypt, for which facility he had been in overall charge of the planning, building and operation. Prior to that he has been in various positions with the A.P. Moller-Maersk group, mainly engaged in the container transport side. This included five years in Mumbai back in the nineteen eighties.  Other postings have been in the North America, the Far East and Western as well as Eastern Europe. Philip Littlejohn has furthered his education with various management courses at Insead, IMD and the London Business School.

Mr. Mukesh Oza, a graduate in Economics started his career with the IMF / World Bank, before the shipping world lured him. He has over thirty years of experience in Containerised, Break Bulk and Bulk shipping. He started his career in Mumbai and moved to the Sharaf Group of the UAE, where he took long strides in his professional career and eventually rose to the Directorship on the Board of the Sharaf Group.

In 1996 Samsara group, a member of the Sharaf group  was set-up in India & Mukesh was handed the assignment to spearhead this group.  Today this group has more than 50 offices at all major ports and inland cities across the country.

The group under his guidance and able leadership today represents some of the most reputed global container /bulk and break bulk carriers and operators. The group today is also in the business of owning and operating private freight trains for EXIM and Domestic cargo, CFS’s and Inland Container Depots across India.

Mahendar Puri is a Bachelor of Commerce and passed out the Chartered Accountants exam from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in the year 1984  and pursued further in the field of Finance and Accounts.

His industry experience of 24 years includes audit firms like RSM & Co and A. F. Fergusson & Co. and various multinational companies in Oil, Shipping sector, etc.  He has 17 years of rich experience in shipping industry.
 
With this strong background, he has taken up the assignment as a Chief Executive Officer in Hind Terminals Private Limited  a company which has ventured into Owning and operating of container freight trains to Service the EXIM and Domestic trade, Owning and operating Inland Container Depots, Owning and operating Container Freight Stations, Setting up of Logistics park, Third party Logistics Solutions Provider and Collateral Management.

Craig Grossgart is responsible for driving the Express business for DHL in India. He has recently moved in this role. Prior to this he was VP South Asia-International for DHL Express since April 2006.

Prior to this appointment, Craig was the CEO of the Asia Container Terminals in Hong Kong. During his two-years with the company, he designed and executed a unique business strategy that brought the company out of the red, subsequently earning substantial profits during his first year at the helm.

Craig was also with APL, a wholly- owned subsidiary of Singapore-based Neptune Orient Lines, in various senior management capacities in the company’s key offices around the world.

Jacques Creeten is the Vice President for India, FedEx Express. In his current capacity Jacques is responsible for all FedEx business units in India.
    
Having joined FedEx in 1985 Jacques has 19 years of management experience acquired during the various management positions he has held in Belgium, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Dubai and most recently India.

In 1999, Jacques moved to India as Managing Director Operations for India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and the Maldives, and in 2005 accepted the position of Managing Director, Sales & Marketing with responsibility for all FedEx sales and marketing activities across the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa.

Professor Hum is with the Department of Decision Sciences at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He currently serves as the Executive Dean of the NUS-Fudan University Joint Graduate School that is being setup in Suzhou, China.

Professor Hum has earlier completed his term as the Dean of The NUS Business School. He has also been a member of the NUS Council and the NUS Senate.

Prior to joining the University, Professor Hum worked as a Systems Engineer in the Ministry of Defence. Over the past many years, Professor Hum has conducted executive teaching and/or served as a consultant to many public and private organizations. Professor Hum’s current area of active consulting work has been in helping companies and government agencies adopt and implement the Balanced Scorecard strategic measurement and management system.

Professor Hum’s current research interests are in the areas of logistics operations strategy, Japanese manufacturing system and the modelling analysis of supply chains.

Shyam Bang is the Executive Director of Jubilant Organosys Ltd. He graduated as Chemical Engineer from Nagpur University in 1971 & further did his post graduation in Chemical Engineering from UICT, Mumbai in 1973. He has a very rich experience of 35 years with various industries. Shyam has been associated with the Jubilant Group since 1982. He has handled various responsibilities in the last 26 years. He has been instrumental in bringing new technologies, developing and managing projects and developing new business opportunities for the company. He is currently responsible for all operations of the company, which include manufacturing, projects, environment and supply chain management.

Sudhir is currently the Vice President - Supply Chain Management Business Group of TATA AutoComp Systems. He has extensive experience of over 22 years at leadership positions at General Motors India (Director & Head of Purchasing Function) and Maruti Udyog. Mr. Gupta had started his career as a Graduate Engineer trainee with Tata Motors, Jamshedpur.

Supply Chain Management Business Group is focussed at managing the complete sourcing and supply chain activities for global OEM/Tier 1 automotive customers from Indian manufacturing base.

Sudhir is an engineering graduate, BE Mechanical and  completed GDMM from Indian Institute of Materials Management.

Lionel Stanton is the Chief Operating Officer - Storage & Fulfillment for Future Logistic Solutions Ltd. Lionel has done BSc (Production Engineer), MSc (Management Science & Ops Research) and also is a Chartered Engineer. He carries with him over 35 years of rich experience in Business re-structuring, Supply Chain restructuring, and design, build and start-up Project Management.
